Wilma A. “Aileen” Wiseman Sanders Aileen Sanders, 82, of Poca went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2016, in St. Francis Hospital. Aileen was born September 7, 1933, to the late Everett and Frances Wanner Wiseman. She was a graduate of Elkview High School, Class of 1951, and her sharp memory could offer day, time, and location of the ceremony. In 1959 she married Eugene Sanders, and they lived in Charleston, where their children were born. They were married for 49 years. She worked for the S. S. Kresge Company during the early sixties before opting to be a stay at home mom. She loved to read and, as her church friends well knew, could finish a book in a day or two. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes. She shared these with Pastor David Clark of Nitro Church of the Nazarene, where she was a beloved congregant. Her faith was profoundly important to her, and she proudly declared that she had read the Bible several times, “even the concordance.” Aside from reading and religion, she enjoyed watching sports, especially WVU football and basketball. She was a great cook but would admit that she was a better baker. Her grandchildren particularly loved her crunchy fudge sandwiches; her other specialty was peanut butter pie, which she made to share with her son-in-law Tom, with whom she also shared a mutual love and respect. If she could, she would tell us, “Don’t be sad. I didn’t have to cross Jordan alone!” Her daughter would like to respond with “Mom, I love you bunches!” In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Wiseman of New Port Richey, FL, Don Wiseman of South Charleston, Jerry Wiseman of West Chester, OH, and Wayne Wiseman of South Charleston; and sisters, Elinor Williams of Canton, OH; Gwen Wiseman of Frostproof, FL; Vivian Wiseman of Charleston; and Nancy Mitchell of South Charleston. Aileen is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Eskew of South Charleston; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dede Sanders of Reno, NV; granddaughters, Amber (Johnny) Eakin, Trisha (Bryan) Boggs, Karen (Stan Taylor) Lemon, and Rachel Sanders; grandsons, Alec, Kyle, Aron, Jacob, and Nathan Sanders; great-granddaughters, Hailey and Abby Lemon, Summer Taylor, and Briana and Hanna Boggs; and her brother, Jack (Judy) Wiseman of Ravenswood. A celebration of Aileen’s life will be Friday, February 19, 2016, at 1pm in the chapel of Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Pastor David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 5pm-8pm at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, 25313. Online condolences may be made at www.tylermountainfuneralhome.com.
