December 19, 1949April 4, 2019

Barbara Ellen Ettinger of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was born in Yonkers in 1949, to the late Harvey and Pansy (Siegall) Ettinger.

Barbara, a life-long Yorktown resident, who travelled widely internationally, and was a devoted friend, still enjoying relationships begun in childhood. She worked at several international nonprofit professional associations and most recently at a Guardian Insurance. She selflessly cared for her parents in their declining years. She is a most beloved sister and a cherished friend. She will be sorely missed. We hope that she is already up in Heaven hugging and kissing our Parents. She was great!

Barbara is survived by her beloved sister, Elaine Crowley of Massachusetts and brother Kenneth Michael Ettinger, MD, of Oregon, loving nephews and nieces, Adam S. Rosenberg and his son Max Rosenberg, and Eli Ettinger, Jesse Ettinger and Olivia Boothby.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at United Hebrew Cemetery in Staten Island, NY.

We are both very sad to hear about Barbara. Though we had not been in contact for many years, we remember fondly the fun times we had in college. Our deep sympathy to Kenny and Elaine.

Barbara was my mom's best friend for decades, and even when they didn't see each other they always stayed in contact on the phone. Barbara and I had many good times together, including the time she and I went for a hike in Montreal in our gold jewellery and full makeup, only to get lost and spend hours thinking we were never going to get back to civilization. She was an absolute hoot and I will miss her dearly.
