DJ Chain Memorial Project FRIENDS AND FAMILY The Chain family will be working with Wave Hill Public Gardens and Cultural Center to restore its main garden, The Flower Garden, in DJ’s name. Here is part of the letter from Claudia Bonn, President and Executive Director, sent to the family. “We are moved that you are thinking of honoring the memory of D. J. Chain at Wave Hill. As we discussed, we have long dreamed of restoring our signature garden, The Flower Garden, prominently located in front of our Conservatory. This garden features an ever-changing palate of blooms throughout the growing season, framed by two intimate bench arbors covered in pink roses. The backdrop of this signature garden is the Hudson River and the Palisades. The architectural features of the garden need restoration and refurbishment and some plantings need replacement. We estimate the work to take about one year. This garden, in particular, showcases the artistry and garden design that Wave Hill is so known for and is one of the most visited and photographed locations on the property. It is a beautiful and contemplative spot for family and friends to visit throughout the year. We would place two plaques on either side of The Flower Garden in each arbor bench. We suggest the following: "The Restoration of Wave Hill’s Flower Garden is dedicated to the memory of D. J. Chain." Enclosed is a link to The Flower Garden: http://www.wavehill.org/gardens/flower-garden Warm Regards, Claudia” We think this is a wonderful tribute to DJ, which will allow for family and friends to sit and peacefully enjoy the flowers and the Hudson River and remember DJ. Wave Hill is a place visited and enjoyed many times by DJ, her family and friends. For those who would like to contribute to this memorial you can do so either by sending a check, payable to Wave Hill, at 675 West 252 St. Bronx, NY 10471. Please write “DJ Chain” in the memo line. To donate by credit card on line go to: www.wavehill.org/djchain Thank you.
Celebration: We will be celebrating the life of DJ Saturday, March 16th at Trump National Golf Course at 399 Pine Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY phone- 914 944 0900

Dear Paul, Zoe and Samantha, This is such a tragedy for you! And for us her friends and colleagues. My thoughts and prayers are with you. The time DJ & I (and you too Paul!) have spent together working on the design of the house and recently the garage and courtyard has been an amazing collaboration. She inspired those she worked with. I am totally bereft. She was so very very special and absolutely one of a kind.

DJ's joy and zest for life was contagious. I smile when I think of having dinner with DJ and Paul whenever they visited the Cayman Islands. My husband and I looked forward to DJ's stories. DJ's joy was infectious and her energy was a breath of fresh air. What a privilege it was for us to have known such a remarkable woman.
May your unfailing love be my comfort -Psalm 119:76

Dear Paul, Zoe, and Samantha,
We are deeply saddened by the news of DJ's sudden passing. What a wonderful person, so full of life and so committed to her family, garden, Teatown, and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with DJ over the years working on gardening and Teatown projects. Although we are now living in New Zealand, and will be unable to attend the Service, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love, Emily, Anders, David, and Sarah Crofoot, Castlepoint, New Zealand
