Elizabeth Faranda, a longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away on August 26, 2022, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born to the late Chris and Georgia Fragos in Mount Vernon, NY. She graduated from A.B. Davis High School, where she was student body president, and the Berkeley School of Business. She also attended Hunter College where she studied literature. She worked as an executive assistant at BBD&O, a Madison Avenue advertising agency in New York City. Elizabeth served as President of the Croton Senior Club where she enjoyed writing and giving speeches, President of the Croton Free Library where she liked reading books aloud to children, and she supported the Croton Caring Committee at monthly community luncheons. She loved beautiful flowers, international travel, and Italian opera. She especially loved listening to Puccini’s "O mio babbino caro" sung by Renee Fleming and "Nessun dorma" sung by Luciano Pavarotti. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Frank Faranda. She is survived by her beloved daughters Michele and Christine and their husbands, her AFS daughters Monica and Maria and their families, and her sister Emily. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 1 from 2-5pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY, where a funeral service will take place at 4:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
