Frieda Lavonne LaMedica

Frieda, born and raised in east Texas married northerner and solider Louis LaMedica on January 6th, 1945 while he was stationed in Houston, Texas. The couple was married for over 50 years. Frieda, who was a resident of Croton for 66 years, resided in the house built by her and her husband in 1950 and was lovingly cared for at her home for the past three years by grandson Sean Riordan.

Frieda was known for her boisterous laugh, Texas twang and fiery personality (and hair) until the day she passed.

Frieda was a member of Trinity Boscobel United Methodist Church. Her achievements in life were numerous, but she will be remembered as a woman of Faith, who loved and is loved.

Frieda is survived by her son Louis LaMedica and wife Marcia; daughter Deonne (LaMedica) Riordan and husband Dennis; 7 grandchildren, Dennis Riordan, Buffy (Michael) Horan, Sean Riordan, Louis (Kyung Hui) LaMedica, Christopher (Leah) Riordan, Michelle (Brian) Lake and Julie (Josh) Moses; and 6 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Riordan, Michael Horan, Sophia Horan, Giovanni LaMedica, Savannah Riordan and Valentina LaMedica as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Louis LaMedica on August 13th, 1996.

Memorial services will be under the direction of EF Carter Funeral Home, Croton-On-Hudson, NY. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 7th from 5pm-8pm. The funeral service will be at Trinity Boscobel United Methodist Church at 10am Thursday, September 8th.
