Helen L. Geisler

Helen L. Geisler of Peekskill, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the age of 85. Helen was born to George and Agnes (Southwick) Wogels on January 16, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. Helen loved to travel and take cruises, especially with her family. She enjoyed opera, attending City Opera for years. Helen also enjoyed golf and belonged to Silver Lake Ladies Golf Club of Staten Island.

Helen was an elementary public school teacher for over 30 years, primarily in Staten Island. She was an active member of the UFT and a local chapter chairperson in her school. After retiring, she became active in her local AARP chapter.

Helen is survived by her beloved sons Stephen Geisler and his wife Virginia Coman and Mark Geisler and his wife Karen. She is also survived by her four adored grandchildren Benjamin, Brendan, Emily, and Nicholas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 4-8PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8th at 10, Assumption Church, Peekskill, NY with burial to follow at Calverton Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
