

James “Jim” Aquinas Mullen, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, at age 93. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Patricia Cawley Mullen; children Beth Mullen (the late Alex Eldridge), James A. Mullen III (Stephanie), and Linda McDonough; grandchildren Thomas Rossi (Elizabeth), Diana Rossi, and Ryan McDonough; and nieces and nephews Christopher, Gregory, and Siobhan Mullen. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Mullen.
Born September 10, 1931, in NYC to Dr. James A. Mullen, Sr. and Marjorie Hand Mullen, Jim grew up in Eastchester, NY, graduated from Tuckahoe High School, and served four years in the U.S. Navy specializing in electronics. He earned a B.S. in Business from Iona College and enjoyed a long career at AT&T in White Plains, NY, managing payroll and auditing.
A natural tinkerer with endless energy, Jim was known for fixing anything and everything. He was a longtime member and former President of the Larchmont Shore Club, where he loved tennis and friendships. In retirement, he and Pat moved to Naples, FL, where he embraced golf, tennis, and served as Treasurer of The Dorchester at Pelican Bay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marianist Mission.
Jim will be remembered for his sharp mind, generous heart, and deep devotion to family and community. His family is grateful for the care he received at Atria On-the-Hudson and SkyView Rehabilitation.
