James was born on May 20, 1954 to Alex and Marguerite (DeClarke) Rakotz in Yonkers, NY.
He worked for many years as a Psychology Therapist at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
James is survived by his beloved wife Jean Smith-Rakotz; loving children, Alexander James, Ian Thomas and Anna Gabrielle Rakotz; devoted parents, Alex and Marguerite Rakotz and his caring sisters, Barbara Clifford and Stephanie Rakotz.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 17th at 11:30 am also at the Funeral Home.
