My deepest condolences to Debbie, Stephanie, and family. 
I am saddened that such a bright light has left this world to brighten heaven. I will miss Joan and I am sorry I missed her service. 
I enjoyed our conversations, sitting outside at SpringVale, often with ice cream or some other goodie that my mother Mary forced on us. 
With Joan on one end of the building, and my mother on the other end, building 11 was book-ended (and also in between) with much love, prayer, faith and friendship. 
I have one particularly fond memory of a Thanksgiving during COVID where we each cooked something, and then shared with the others. 
We sometimes shared food, often our trials and tribulations, and always prayers. Joan was the Prayer Warrior! Always sending up our needed prayers through her prayer chain.
Her strength, especially in the final years of her medical battles, was unwavering and is to be commended.
God Bless You my friend, rest in peace. Until we meet again.

My favorite picture of Joan. When she walked in with her beautiful bare head and this jacket, it brought me to tears. Not because the chemo took her hair, or that I felt sorry for her, but because she looked so STRONG! She was stripped down to the bare metal, unadorned, unafraid, uncovered. I loved it so much. Face to the world and ready for whatever was coming. The eyes that told me the story of what she was going through, and the determination to see it through, come what may. She knew Jesus was with her, and her faith was unwavering. 

I will miss sitting in front of her during worship, hearing her singing loud enough to pierce the sky so that Jesus could hear how much she loved Him. I always knew that if I couldn’t hear her singing loudly, she wasn’t feeling well. I’ll miss putting the lobby supply bin down in front of her - and then backing away - so that she could pack away our card packages the right way, in order, so that they could be retrieved intact, in order, the right way. I’ll miss our time sitting in the window, looking at catalogs and talking about jewelry, painting, her daughters and our childhoods. I’ll miss her baby blue pedicures. I’ll miss making jewelry for her, hanging my love from her ears, her wrists and her neck. There is another hole in my heart. I love you, sweet friend. My Joan.❤️

Joan's resilience and strength in the face of illness truly reflect her character. Caring for someone like her can leave a lasting impression, as you witness their determination and will to fight. It's often in those challenging moments that we see the depth of someone's spirit. Joan was a patient of Dr. Christensen for quite sometime and I always loved taking care  for her in those office visits. She always had a beautiful smile and a pleasure to help no matter what she was feeling good or bad. Joan’s personality, her sense of humor, her kindness, inspired others.  She has Inspired me to continue in nursing, and to continue the love of helping others that are in need. Thank you, Joan for all the advice, love and hugs and always bringing a smile to my face. May you rest in peace and be free of pain, my condolences to your family and friends.

I was Blessed and honored to have the privilege of having personal conversations with Joan after church.
   What I will remember is how she loved to sing during church . She also taught  me to  plead the Blood of Jesus over every doorway of my home especially my classroom. Her memory will live on forever in my heart. I was privilege to have her in my life.  Till we meet again.

Joan has always held a special place in my heart. Jimmy and my son Jacob would play together when they were young and Joan would come by my house to spend time with me while the boys were outside running around. I treasure those moments. Rest now with Jesus. See you in heaven Joan. 🙏😘
