Born on September 27, 1945, in Queens, NY, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late James Joseph and Joan Alice (Mathiot) Connelly. Before her retirement, she dedicated her professional life to serving others as a licensed practical nurse, with a special commitment to the HIV/AIDS community—a testament to her compassion and strength.
Joan was a gifted artist who found joy in painting and crafting. Her creativity was matched only by her generous spirit and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted member of Northway Church in Rye, NY, where her faith flourished, and her heart found community.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie Alexandro and Deborah Roissing; her adored grandson, James Nicholas Alexandro; her dear sisters, Mary Duclos (Bill), Christine Palumbo (Jack), Camille Terhune (Mark), and Peggy Connelly, her many nieces and nephews, and her grandpets Tiger, Kennedy, Kemba, Grady and Munson.
Joan was predeceased by her brother, James Francis Connelly, his late wife Patricia and their son Marcus Connelly.
Joan leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
