John Correnti

John Correnti 87, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016. John was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Isola (Catanzano) Correnti. He married the love of his life, Lucille F. Correnti on June 6, 1953; she predeceased him on February 17, 2015.

John was a longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson and System Analyst retiring from IBM after many years of service. He was a Korean War Veteran and was stationed in Seville, Spain. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. John was a graduate of Penn State University and received his M.B.A. from NYU. He was a longtime congregant of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Croton and a very active member of the Croton, Cortlandt and Verplanck Senior Citizen Clubs in which he held many leadership roles. In 2004 he received the Westchester Senior Citizen of the Year Award and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

John loved walking the many trails of the Hudson Valley with his dear friend John Romagno, reading, talking with friends and people he would meet. He could talk about any subject at great length. His favorite musical was Jesus Christ Superstar and loved to play the music to it all the time. Education was very important to him and he instilled that in his family.

John is survived by his two daughters and one son, Florence Gange (Peter) of Robbinsville, NJ, Deborah Correnti (Barry Manus) of Albuquerque, NM and John M. Correnti (Susan) of Wayne, NJ; three grandchildren, Joseph Correnti, Lisa Gange and Erin Gange; and his brother Tito Correnti of Cape May, NJ. He is also survived by his cherished 4 granddogs. He was predeceased by his sister Lucy Agnello and bothers Donato and Peter Correnti.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2017 from 12pm-2pm and 4pm-7pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, November 7th at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 19 Old Post Rd. S., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery also in Croton.
