John Paul Duffy
January 15, 1964 – March 31, 2019
John Paul Duffy passed away at home in Croton on Hudson, NY on Sunday, March 31st. He was 55 years old. He is survived by his two wonderful children, John Philip and Margaret Ann; his dear father, John Patrick Duffy and his loving siblings Brendan, Noreen, Kevin and Mary. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Nora and his loving brother, Patrick. Affectionately known as ‘Pal’ John and Uncle Gadget by his nieces and nephews, John leaves behind a large, caring extended family. John always referred to himself as a citizen of the world. Born in England, moved to the mid-west as a baby and then to Ireland for his teenage years. Through school and after graduation John continued to travel and then made London his home and started his career. In 1998 John moved to New York and settled in Croton on Hudson the next year. John played an active role in the community including volunteering for AYSO and Croton Little League, being part of the Croton EMS and joining the Knights of Columbus. John loved the Shannon, Hudson and Croton Rivers, be it fishing, boating, kayaking or just watching the sun set over the water. Whether in Chicago, Galway, London or New York John enjoyed playing and listening to music, especially in the company of good friends. And he was a staunch Liverpool supporter. John will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Services: A Memorial visitation will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 1-5PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton on Hudson, NY.

I worked with John a while ago at CIBC. He was a great guy to be around. He was thorough and articulate but also just a great guy to grab a beer with. I’ll keep all the positive memories i have of him with me.
