Madeline Rose Casey

Madeline was born on September 15, 1948 to the late Walter and Rita (Steffa) Durr.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William; loving sons, William, Jr. (Adriana), Timothy (Nicole) and Michael (Michelle); caring sister, Jacqueline Varley (Stephen) and her adoring grandchildren, Lucy, Luke, Emme, Juliet and Joseph.

Madeline and her husband Bill moved to Cortlandt Manor in 1974, where they raised three sons. Madeline enjoyed being a class parent and a PTA member, and she could always be found cheering along the sidelines of her sons' games.

As her children grew, Madeline returned to work and spent 29 years in the Ossining school district as a teaching assistant, where she had a lasting impact on many children’s lives. During the summer months, Madeline enjoyed vacationing with her family in Lake George where she watched her children and grandchildren grow. Madeline was active in her parish, Holy Name of Mary where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the first women's Cornerstone team.

In retirement, Madeline loved nothing more than to spend time with her five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 18th at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
