Predeceased by her husband Karlheinz F Pavesi, who passed away in 2001, and her parents Mary and Bill Deatcher of Pinellas Park, Florida, formerly of Yonkers, New York. Marlene is survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Zac Sperry of Havana, Florida, her son Karlheinz F Pavesi Jr (Ricky) and her daughter-in-law Virginia, 2 grandsons Patrick and his fiancée Erin Coen and Justin of South Salem, New York, her daughter Laurie and son-in-law Matthew Trodden, 5 grandsons Matthew John, Michael and his wife Alison, 2 great grandchildren Hunter and Claire, Tyler, Dylan and his wife Lauren and Brett of Putnam Valley, New York, her son Theodore (Teddy) and her daughter-in-law Laura, 2 grandchildren Christopher and his wife Sarah and Karlissa of Apex, North Carolina, her son William (Billy) and her daughter-in-law Barbara and granddaughter Brianna of Harrison, New York and her brother Ronald Deatcher and her sister-in-law Audrey of Mesa, Arizona.
Marlene led a very active life as a mother of 5 children. She was a Girl Scout Leader, assisted her husband with Little League and hosted many high school football breakfasts for her sons. Her business career included: the first woman to own a Carvel Ice Cream store, located in Yonkers, New York. Marlene owned and worked at The Shade Tree Restaurant with her husband, Karl, in Hawthorne, New York. Lastly, Marlene ended her career as a secretary at Westlake High School in Thornwood, New York. Marlene loved music, played the piano and sang in the Church Choir. She was active in the Ladies Shriners and associated Jesterettes and Clown groups, performing for kids of all ages at many local childrens hospitals. Marlene was a lover of all animals.
A Memorial Service is planned at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 292 Elwood Ave, Hawthorne, New York for Sunday May 16th at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA. https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial
