Mildred E. Cheskin
February 20, 1918 – April 18, 2018
Mildred E. Cheskin of Scarborough Manor formerly of Croton-on-Hudson passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She was 100 years old.
Mildred was born on February 20, 1918 in Fallsburg, NY to the late Harry and Frances (Goldstein) Estrin. She was a social worker in her working years, and helped many people providing individual cognitive therapy. She was very devoted to her family and they were her world. She loved to travel, loved her crossword puzzles, and would tell the best stories to anyone who gave her an ear to listen. She could make anyone laugh, no matter how ill she may have felt at the time. You would never know it as she was always smiling. She is survived by her granddaughters, Jessica and Julie, and great grandchildren Kira, Justin, Adrianna, Milena, and Sage. She was predeceased by her son, Joel R. Cheskin, in 2006 and her husband, Irving W. Cheskin in 2008. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Bethel Cemetery in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. What a blessing to have loved Mildred, and to have Mildred love her family for so long! Mildred lived a long and gracious life filled with love. She was the love of everyone's life. My condolence to the Cheskin Families for this great loss of Mildred. Many tears will be shed for her. Therefore, Let God’s words of comfort ease the pain in your hearts. "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. Here I am healing you". (2 Kings 20:5) May you reflect on HIS words of comfort to give you peace during distressing times ahead.
