

Nancy Frazer Luckett (nee Bomar Frazer, McCarthy, and Rowell), a resident of Brewster and formerly of South Salem, NY, passed away on September 5, 2025. She was 95 Years old. Nancy was born on January 24, 1930, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Rev. John William and Lucy (Bomar) Frazer. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in English. Before her retirement, she worked for the New York Convention Bureau and as a real estate agent. She also taught English as a Second Language. She was a passionate Francophile and visited France many times, hosting friends and family in her beloved Loche farmhouse, which she rented from her good friend Bernadette. She loved entertaining friends in her home in South Salem and previously Dobbs Ferry with her beloved late husband, Herbert P. Luckett. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist, and proudly sang with the St. Matthew's Church choir in Bedford, NY, under the direction of Anthony Newman, the renowned harpsichordist, music director, and organist.
Her daughter, Elizabeth McCarthy Carlson, survives her together with her son-in-law, D. Kurt Carlson, her sons Daniel Luckett and James Luckett, and daughter Arliegh Luckett, step-son Terry Dyke and granddaughters, Louisa E. F. Carlson, Elizabeth Luckett, Jennifer Luckett Adler, Quinn, and Lark Luckett and grandson Jeffrey Luckett in addition to numerous great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by James Harry McCarthy 3, Dr. Forrest Rowell, and Herbert P. Luckett.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 12th, from 9-11 am at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520, where a prayer service will start at 11 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to UNICEF.
