Dear Bob and Family,
We are truly saddened by the loss of your dearly beloved wife, friend, companion, partner, and amazing co-parent!
I have her to thank and thank alone for helping me make many summits. I am proud to say she could "outhike" me, and "outgym" me too! She was a "petite ball of fire"! I loved every story she told me about your  children and grandchildren! Her charismatic nature, genuine heart, and humanitarianism will always live on in our world and will remain forever with you Bob, your beautiful children and gorgeous grandchildren!

To all of the Riekert Family: We were saddened to learn of Nancy's passing. Only recently did we renew our acquaintance at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Carole and Harold Prummell. We would like to share a prayer with you--We give her back to you, dear Lord, who gave Nancy to us; yet as you didn't lose her in giving, so we haven't lost Nancy by her return to you. What you have given you do not take away, O Lover of souls; for what is yours is ours also if we are yours. And life is eternal and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight. Lift us up strong Son of God, that we may see further, cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; and draw us closer to yourself that we may know ourselves to be nearer to our loved ones who are with you. And while you prepare to receive us, prepare us also for that glorious place where they are and you are, we too may be forever. Eternal God, you gave Nancy a new birth in baptism, and entrusted her to us for a time that seems too short. As we thank you for the life we shared with her, help us now to release her to your mighty keeping. Bring us all to that day when we shall stand in your presence with all your saints in light eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Nancy was a wonderful mentor to me in Girl Scouting.  Her dedication and enthusiasm were truly inspirational.  Please know that all your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am honored that I got to know and work with Nancy at many girl scout events. She was a great lady who loved sharing stories, enjoyed a good laugh, and spoke of her husband and family all the time. My daughters and I are saddened for your loss. She touched may generations of girls and women through Girl Scouts and her presence will be missed.

I will always remember Nancy for her pleasant manner and beautiful smile. She loved her Girl Scouts...and Girl Scouts loved her! Your family has my heartfelt sympathy.

Nancy's sudden passing was indeed a shock. There are too many women to count directly or indirectly influenced by her through Girl Scouts. I know she had become less active, but a 50 year pin is impressive. 
Her cheerful companionship on Tuesday Night Hikes will be missed. I have fond memories of her on dozens of hikes over many years.

To the Riekert family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I work with Jim and over the years I have heard many heartwarming stories about Nancy's personal strength, love for her family, and faith in her children.  Clearly she raised your family with great warmth and love...and she did a wonderful job. She leaves a tremendous legacy...

So many memories, Nancy going home to get her recorder to join in the music at one of my parties.  That may have been the night you proposed,  Bemoaning the fact that with all the meals she supervised at the Lutheran Club retreats at Major Bowes that now she was getting married she only had recipes for 25, none for 2.  So saddened to hear of your loss, my prayers are with you.

Nancy and I worked together on many council and leader events.  I so enjoyed knowing her.  She worked so hard for Ossining and the council.  She loved it when Judy would volunteer to run a workshop at ETC (We had a lot of fun).  I enjoyed having Doris as one of the girls on the,Cad./Sen.3 day Conn. River canoe trip I helped run with the council.  I enjoyed her friendship and will miss her.

So many of my memories of council-wide Girl Scout events include Nancy as a vital participant. I especially remember her hiking all over Rock Hill to photograph everyone having fun at the ETC (Everything Covered) adult training/enrichment weekends each fall. She was the person who came to mind whenever anyone said the phrase "Ossining Girl Scouts" and she will truly be missed.       Jean Havens
