As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Rich, was my brother in the Fraternity of Lay Dominicans. I know him to be a faith filled man. He touched many with his articles and poetry. I just know that St. Dominic and St. Bartolome de las Casas, met Rich at the gates of heaven, and walked him thru.

Rich was a dear friend who showed me why one must keep seeking and discerning until one discovers truth. He was never satisfied with the status quo and sought to convert souls through Mary, who wanted nothing more than to bring souls to her son. I am forever grateful to him for his warmth, compassion, wisdom and faith. He was a true soldier for Christ and had a passion greater than most. Rest in peace, dear soldier and friend. You have reached your eternal home now.

To Rich's family,
From the moment that I first met Rich back in 2001, I immediately realized that he was a man who stood out from others. He was a fighter, a poet and a scholar with a kind spirit and a keen intellect. When I picture him, I invariably see him smiling, ever ready to rouse everyone from indifference and to make them look at things in new and more meaningful ways. I'm sure that the way he lived and even the way that he endured his illness with such faith and continued commitment to his purpose in Christ will inspire and motivate us all to greater purposes. I hope and pray that you find strength and comfort in this difficult time. It comforts me to know that Rich has finally found rest in his eternal home.

Richard - I know you go with God, that you are now in his loving arms, away from all suffering. We had you but a short time, God now has you for eternity - untill we meet again, dear friend, lead the heavenly bass section for us, won't you? All my love to Andrea and the rest of the family.

Dearest Dad,
I will miss you every moment. You are forever in my heart. Your strength in body and spirit these last few years was phenomenal. As my father you gave me unconditional love always. You instilled confidence and an insistence on acceptance of nothing that is phony or wrong with the world. You taught me to love and to fight and to persevere. I am sorry that you missed the birth of my first son. He missed you by 12 hours but came on mom's birthday as a gift to all of us to bring some joy to such a sad time. He is a fighter. The first doctor said he is feisty and had a temper. My son, your grandson. Jacob is my little angel. Julie said I had the best angel in heaven, you, to guide my little one into the world and you did. He came fast and furious into this world. The thought of you gave me the strength I needed to get through my greatest labor of love. I will strive to teach Jacob all that you have taught me. God bless the FTWs always. Your friendship and support and love has been such a great comfort and inspiration to us all. Thank you all friends of my father for your kindness and love always and especially when my dad needed it the most. My family, I Iove you all dearly and am very sad to not be there with you all this weekend. You are in my heart.
