Richard was born in New York City, NY on February 18, 1946 to John and Felicia (Hess) Ross. He grew up in Manhattan with his family and left to serve in the Navy on the USS Von Steuben Submarine from 1963-1969. After leaving the Navy, he worked for NYNEX for 28 years then worked for ING retiring as Assoc. Vice President. During that time Richard became an avid golfer and a faithful fan of the West Point Army Football Team. After marrying his wife Ingrid, she showed him what life was all about, opening his eyes to the love of travel.
Richard was a big man with a bigger heart and loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Nothing made him happier than everyone eating, drinking and having a great time.
He is survived by his adoring wife Ingrid, loving children; Rich, Emily and Nicole, his sister Jeannie Sochet, in-laws; Greta, Emil and Janka. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; David, Adam, Lisa Sochet and Laura Keepax. Richard was larger than life and his memory will remain the same way in our hearts.
