It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news that Ronald Luposello, Sr., age 91, lifelong resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29th. Ronald was born on December 23, 1932, to Anthony and Jennie Luposello in Ossining, NY. Ronald was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, grandfather, and in more recent years became a great-grandfather. However, everyone who knew Ronald knew one of his most coveted titles was as the Owner of Luposello’s Garage, working shoulder to shoulder with first his father, then his brothers, and for the past 40 years his son JR, up until almost the day of his passing. The same year Ronald graduated from Croton Harmon High School in 1950, he also joined the Harmon Engine Company #3 of the Croton Fire Department where he was an active member for over 20 years, and an over 50-year life member of the department.
Ronald leaves behind a remarkable legacy, and his impact on our community will resonate for generations to come. Ronald spent over 80 years dedicating his life to keeping our community on the road through his work at the garage. His work ethic was second to no one, and his passion for his business was intertwined with his passion for his family.
After a couple years of dating, Ronald was able to start a family of his own by marring the love his life Emma in 1959, at the Holy Name of Mary Church, in Croton on Hudson and going on to have three children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They remained married for 64 years and when asked what the key to a long successful marriage is, his answer was always “A Good Wife”. Ronald is pre-deceased by both his parents, and three of his four siblings: Anthony “Sonny” (Sarah), Jean (Joe), and Alfred (Sandra). Ronald is survived by his loving wife Emma, sister Bernice, his children; Linda (Chris), Susan (Pat), Ronald Jr. (Staci), his grandchildren; Lauren, Marissa (Mike), Lindsey, Katie, Danielle, and Michael, and great grandchildren Gia and Addison.
Ronald will be sorely missed by so many, but we celebrate a life well-lived and a business that became a second home for many. As we reflect upon the countless memories shared, they bring us comfort and solace as we remember a family man, who not only fixed cars, but also touched so many hearts. Visitation for Ronald will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520. A mass of Christian burial will occur Monday, March 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name of Mary Church, 114 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, New York. A burial will occur Monday, March 4, 2024 at Bethel Cemetery, Old Post Rd South & Cleveland Dr, Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
