Vincent DiMilia, of Pleasantville, NY, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on March 14, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Rose and Salvatore DiMilia, both of whom predeceased him. Vincent lived a life marked by intellect, dedication, service, and a deep love for his family.
Vincent proudly served in the United States Navy Reserves from 1960 to 1968, embodying the values of duty and commitment that carried through every chapter of his life.
He earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, laying the groundwork for an accomplished career in the semiconductor industry. Over several decades, Vincent contributed his expertise to leading companies including IBM, SVG, and ASML. His innovative work led to multiple patents, including foundational technologies involving vacuum and electrostatic chucking mechanisms—critical components of modern semiconductor manufacturing. He was widely respected as a brilliant engineer, thoughtful problem solver, and generous mentor.
At home, Vincent was a devoted husband to Doreen DiMilia, with whom he shared a warm and enduring life in Pleasantville. He was the proud father of four children: Jonathan (Randi) of Mahopac, NY, Debra of Mahopac, NY, Christopher (Ashley) of North Salem, NY, and Michael of Austin, TX. He deeply cherished his grandchildren—Johnny, Danielle, Samantha, and Della—and found great joy in their accomplishments and laughter. Vincent is also survived by his brother, John of Staten Island, NY. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lucy Lacey, Rosemarie, and Teresa.
Vincent found joy in a number of lifelong passions. He was an avid wine maker, carrying forward a DiMilia family tradition passed down through generations. He also loved gardening, a hobby he shared closely with his wife, Doreen, cultivating countless vegetables, flowers, and memories together. Vincent had a deep appreciation for cooking, and he took pride in preparing meals for family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and quiet nights at home. These hobbies, rooted in an Italian heritage that he was very proud of, reflected his love of sharing what he made with others.
Family and friends will remember Vincent for his steady presence, keen intellect, witty jokes, and unwavering kindness. Whether discussing the latest stock market trends, reflecting on current events, or simply enjoying a meal with loved ones, he brought warmth and thoughtfulness to every moment.
A wake will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
