OBITUARY

Adrian Daniel Gomez

March 30, 1993September 26, 2019

Adrian Daniel Gomez, 26, of Crystal Lake passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2019. He was born March 30, 1993 in Chicago to Jaime and Claudia Gomez. Adrian was a good man, he was a devoted father, son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend to all. He had a big heart and cared about everyone. He was always determined to bring everyone together. His kids meant the world to him. Adrian loved movies, superheroes, comics, and Marvel especially. He was the king of the one-liner. He could quote any movie/show, anytime of the day, all the time. He would also always take on little projects. Adrian's greatest dream was to be a police officer and he was very close to accomplishing that dream. Adrian is survived by his fiancée, Allie Maklezow; his children, Alexa and Drew; his father, Jaime Gomez; his mother; Claudia Gomez; his siblings, Andrew, Angel, and Chloe; his grandparents, Monica (his best friend) and Chacho Vergara. There will be a memorial visitation from 3 to 8pm on Thursday, October 3 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. As a nod to Adrian's dislike of dressing up, please come in your favorite band t-shirt, comic book t-shirt, or graphic tee.

I can remember when I first met him at minute man.. he was a strong hearted man that was quickly among used grunts. I will always have him in my heart. My wife in heaven is looking out for him..

I am so sorry to hear of this loss to your family. Having worked with Monica, Adrian’s grandmother, I can surely see his title of “best friend” for her. My family’s thoughts and prayers are with you all during this unimaginable time.

Adrian was the oldest young guy I knew. He was so in touch with the things that I grew up with it...it was amazing...especially since I am 22 years older. Whether it was music, movies or anything in between he could speak about it. I shared an office with him for the last year or so and I feel very fortunate to have known him. His love for Star wars and marvel were often topics of debate.
The laughs we shared daily during our debates will never be forgotten.

When I first met Adrian he was only 14 or 15 years old. He went to the same Tae Kwon Do school that my 4 year old son went to at that time. My son had an issue with his confidence very early on at T.K.D. and Adrian went out of his way to not only instill confidence in him but to ensure he felt safe and comfortable. I could never pay back this to Adrian. It meant so much to myself, my wife and my son the way Adrian handled this situation.
He showed wisdom and patience beyond his years.
I can only hope someday, that my now 15 year old son, could help someone like Adrian helped him.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Adrian's family as they go through this very difficult period.
R.I.P.

It's been years since I have talked or seen you, but doesn't mean I haven't kept you and your family in my prayers. Since I got the news, all I have been doing is reminiscing about playing with you when you were a little boy. Even though we hadn't spoken in so long, everyone would tell me how well you were doing. God always takes the good ones to soon and you will never be forgotten. Love you, rest in peace cuz.
