

Albert was born on April 18, 1928 in Glenview to Maria and Francesco Franchi. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, having served during the Korean War era.
Albert Franchi was married to Virginia Franchi for 75 years. Albert lived in the Chicagoland area and utilized his skills in carpentry, locksmithing, and contracting as a member of the Carpenters Union-Local One. His love of vintage cars and solving any mechanical or home improvement problem lives on in his son and grandson. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed nothing more than nurturing his family's love of fishing, the North Woods, and boating. His generous soul and unwavering faith drew others to him and made him a pillar of his family.
Albert will be greatly missed by his wife of 75 years, Virginia L. Franchi; his children Gayle Gurnicz, Nancy Tomaszak, Gary Franchi; his grandchildren, Rachel, Elise, Jordan, Katherine, Randy; his great-grandchildren, Savannah, Madeline, Liam, Cian, Isabel, Fayna, Matilda, Calvin, Gabriel; and his beloved sister, Marcie Reinhardt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Frank, Gus, Louis, and Alex Franchi.
A chapel cemetery service and military honors for Albert will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 12:30 PM at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, Belmont and Cumberland, River Grove, IL 60171.
