

Albino L. Santelli, age 103 and a half, long time resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois went to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Albino was born July 15, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Italian immigrants Frank and Asunta Santelli. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. Albino served in the armed forces, stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. He took on a lifetime career in accounting at Buckley Dement Advertising and retired after 40 years. Albino and his family moved from Chicago to Crystal Lake in 1963. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for 59 years. He became a lifelong member and past president of the Crystal Lake Country Club. Albino loved God, his family, the game of golf and Notre Dame football.
Albie, as he was called, was larger than life with his effervescent personality. He was a passionate and energetic man even at the remarkable age of 103, loved by everyone he met. He touched so many lives in so many ways and was an inspiration of love, positivity, and integrity. Everyone was a better person just for knowing him. He was a true gentleman.
He is survived by his children, Susan Kaufmann and Donald (Donna) Santelli; grandchildren Keath W. Kaufmann and Caroline L. Kaufmann; great granddaughter, Audrie August Price; sister Anna Traina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Asunta Santelli; wife, Agnes (Bielak) Santelli; son-in-law, William Kaufmann; siblings Frank and Alfred Santelli, and Violet Loiacono.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10am to 11:15am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30am.
