She was born June 26, 1919, in Chicago to Arno and Rosa (Bladel) Schoner. On March 17, 1945, she married Ernest J. Decker Jr. in Chicago. She had been a resident of Crystal Lake since 1970. She had been involved with the Crystal Lake TOPS for many years. She loved music, especially the opera.
She is survived by her children, Ernest J. “Jack” (Lynn) Decker III, and Connie Decker; her grandchildren, Mark (Debra) Daraskevich and Elizabeth (Michael) Shaw; and her great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Delilah. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial visitation will be from 3 to 5pm on Friday, June 3, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assissi Animal Foundation, P.O. Box 143, Crystal Lake, IL 60039-0143.
