Alma Green

She was born on July 1, 1920, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Adolph and Hilda (Hanson) Almstrom. On January 13, 1945, she married Roy Green.

She was a life-long resident of Crystal Lake and a devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, where she was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a longtime teacher’s aide for children with special needs in the Crystal Lake School District.

She loved reading and writing poetry, and enjoyed gardening. She was the sweetest and most affectionate person you could meet and she saw the best in everyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Richard (Marggi Walstrom) Green and Charlie (Julianne) Green; her grandchildren, Stacy (Timothy) McCaffrey, Amy (Ryan) Passaglia, and Ellen and Jack Green; and her great-grandchildren, Colin, Carson, Lauren, and Derek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; and her siblings, Genevieve, Vivian, Bertram, and Lois.

The family will greet friends from 10am to 11am on Tuesday, December 21, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake. The memorial service will follow at 11am.

Interment will be private.
