A graduate of Woodstock High School, Bernie was a self-employed auto mechanic for many years. He was also a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge.
Bernie enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and hunting
Survivors include his mother, Martha Lechner; son, Christopher (Rachel) Lechner; grandchildren, Hunter and Fallon Lechner; brothers, Walter (Nancy), Helmuth (Rose), Siegfred, Paul and Gary (Wendy) Lechner; sisters, Rosie (Rick) Bocian and Heidy Robinson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ewald Lechner and sons, Andrew and Brandon Lechner.
