Betty J. Rogers (Olson), 87, of Crystal Lake passed away Sunday December 18, 2011 at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Barrington. She was born October 11, 1924 in Chicago to Carl A. and Bessie Olson. She married Joseph “Sonny” Rogers in 1964, he preceded her in death in 1977. She worked her whole life with the latest being at Sherman Plumbing & Heating for 21 years and she volunteered at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling, gambling, bowling, and golf.
She is survived by a sister Helen Aylward of Chicago; nephew James Aylward; niece Lynn Aylward ; 2 great-nieces Jennifer Kuck & Laura Standridge and their families of Gainesville, Fla.; best friend Margaret Koll of Oak Lawn; and many dear friends and relatives.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Wed, Dec. 21 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Funeral service will be at 11 am on Thurs, Dec 22 at the funeral home. The Rev Arn Schaper will officiate. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
