Beverly Brinckman of Woodstock, IL passed away January 11th 2021. Beverly was born Feb 20, 1930 to John and Elizabeth Washo. She attended St. Thomas Catholic elementary school and graduated from Crystal Lake Central HS in the class of 1948. She met her husband, Donald Brinckman, while working at Jewel Tea in Barrington and they married, February 7, 1954. Together, they had 5 children: Scott, Bonny Putney (Paul), Barbara Ladd (Jeff), Donna Spethman (Greg) and Dawn Walters (Dana). They had 11 grandchildren: Rachel Riggsby (Bryan), Gage Teberg, Kyle Teberg (Carla), Alison Brinckman, Nicki Brinckman, Max Brinckman, Kayla Spethman, Graydon Spethman, Kevin Walters, Holly Walters, & Alec Walters. Throughout her life, she was very active at St. Thomas the Apostle parish and loved working with the elderly. She volunteered for the women's auxiliary of Sherman Hospital, a group she eventually chaired. She was involved with her HS class reunion committee and hosted one of the class reunions at her home. She also had a special talent for watercolor painting and her children cherish these works.
The real joy of Beverly's life was her children and grandchildren. She spent all of her life loving and worrying about each one. They were truly her treasure. She was very generous with her time and money. She thought that it was better to give than receive and she practiced this throughout her life. She loved her Catholic faith and did her best to not just study it, but to live it. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude and fun spirit.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, April 10 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
