Cathy Dunphy

She leaves behind her children, Matthew, Jane, Sarah and Patrick as well as daughter-in-law Denise Dunphy (Matt) and sons in law Andy Kayser (Jane) and Mark Halvorson (Sarah). They will continue to support each other, even without prodding.

Her grandchildren fortunately all live within 15 minutes: Aidan Dunphy, Madison and Brianna Kayser, Ian and Sammy Halvorson.

Her remaining siblings – Diana Vodnansky, Dan McLaughlin, Jim McLaughlin (and Pat) and brother in law Bruce McClaren – will continue to gather annually at Christmas with all the ‘kids’ and their home-mades.

Cathy will join her mom and dad, Bernard and Dolores McLaughlin, and her husband Bob and sister Elaine McClaren who already live in good memories.

Cathy spent most of her work life at School District U-46 – most happily as part of the Illinois Park School family in Elgin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CASA/Kane County (110 S. Third St., Suite 460, Geneva, IL 60134) and Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry (PO 7866, 1113 Pyott Road, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156), two of her retirement interests. Public memorial services will occur on July 13, 2018, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral home, located at 500 West Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
