Cory’s parents, Rob and Alice, welcomed him to the world on August 26, 1988. He was followed by the birth of his little brother and life-long best friend, Nick.
He married the love of his life, Kelsey (Kowalski) Vice in an intimate ceremony on April 7, 2020, with a larger celebration of their marriage on April 9, 2022, and received the greatest gift of his much too short life on July 8, 2023, when their beautiful, perfect, miracle baby Channing William Vice came into the world.
Cory was a true family man, who loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and doting on his beloved son. There might as well have been no other fish in the sea, because since meeting Kelsey on Plenty of Fish, they only had eyes for each other and were hardly ever apart. They stuck by each other through more obstacles than most couples face in a lifetime. They were truly one of those special couples that looking at them you know, not only do they love each other, but they really like each other too. Their love was so special already, but Cory just truly came to life with the birth of their son; those bright green eyes of his would just light up looking at that flawless baby he helped create (and passed on his gorgeous lashes that any girl would be envious of too!), and he truly relished every second of being a father. Nothing made him happier than spending time at home with his perfect little family.
Even before Channing made him a dad, it was always clear that Cory would be a great one and had a lot of love to give to his special little man. He was an amazing “Funcle” to his 3 young nieces, who loved him back just as much in return. A true animal lover, Cory also had many years of being a doting dog dad on his resume, as he became enamored with Kelsey’s first dog, Tasha, from day one and loved their current pups, Martha and Murphy, just as much. He could often be found cuddling with and spoiling the family’s two pups, and was fascinated by watching them interact with and love on their new little “brudder” Channing. His love of animals did not stop with dogs however; Cory loved all creatures, to the extent that he even cried one time when Kelsey accidently hit a raccoon.
Another love of Cory’s life was sweets. He possessed a sweet tooth that was unrivaled. No baked goods were safe in his presence, as he could eat 3 dozen of his wife’s homemade cookies within one day of her baking them.
Cory also had a fondness for endless tinkering around in the garage. He had 15 of every tool you could imagine and he could often be found out there, fixing something or working on some new project. He was also an incredibly hard worker, as any former or current co-worker could tell you. While he may be later for anything else, you always could count on Cory to be not just on time, but early for work.
Above all though, what defined Cory was his accepting nature and his devotion and faithfulness to his family. Anyone who is familiar with Cory and Kelsey’s story knows that he was man who met a woman he loved and never let anything get in the way of that; standing by and holding her hand through multiple medical issues, including her kidney/pancreas transplant, the illness and loss of her mother, a high risk pregnancy, and the premature birth of their son. Cory was always there; he was always someone you could always count on. And this extended not just to his family, but really to anyone who ever had the privilege to meet Cory. You would always walk away from that encounter with a friend, as he was an amazingly welcoming and accepting person who devoted himself to all those he cared about.
We will remember this amazing husband, father, son, friend for many reasons, but most of all for his unwavering loyalty to his family, his genuine personality, and his incredibly hardworking nature.
Cory is survived by his loving wife Kelsey Vice, his beloved son, Channing Vice, his parents Rob Vice and Alice Pace, his brother Nick Vice, his in-laws Brian and Michelle Kowalski, sisters-in-law Klansey (Jason) Benzinger and Danielle (Scott) Deck, his maternal grandmother Martha Pace, his paternal grandmother Elizabeth Vice, as well many cousins and his nieces.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Gordon Pace, his paternal grandfather William Vice, his mother-in-law Karen Kowalski, and his first canine love Tasha.
