Plainfield--David John Albold born April 20, 1944, in Chicago died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home in Plainfield surrounded by his family and good friends.
David grew up in Crystal Lake. He served in the Army from 1966-1968. He received certificates in airplane airframe and powerplant from Lewis University in and began his own business shortly thereafter. It is through that business, AAP Aviation, that he formed many friendships.
In his time here on earth, he imparted on his family the love of airplanes and flying, hunting, and the joy found in a lazy afternoon motorcycle ride.
He is survived by his sons, Jarrett (Nicole) and Chad (Tasha); grandchildren, Vincent, Marissa, Isabella, and Blake; his brother, William; and his dear friend, Jenifer Swern.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, William and Erna.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7pm on Sunday, March 6, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am to the 11am funeral service on Monday, March 7, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
