My condolences to the Dunphy family. I heard of her passing while at work and I was devastated. I am so grateful that I was able to experience her kindness and patience during my seventh hour period in English class. I remember always laughing and looking forward to her class every day because she made learning fun. Her laughter, corny humor and dedication to her students will never be forgotten. She will be missed.

Words can not begin to express my deep sorrow over the loss of Denise.  She always brightened up everyone's day with her sense of humor and easy laughter.  Denise always made it a point to greet just about every student that passed her door and engaged many of them in a conversation.  She would make sure to connect to all of the students in her classroom and never gave up in helping them succeed.  I will always treasure last year when I had the pleasure to co-teach with her.  She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

We are so sorry for your loss!  Keeping all of you in our hearts and minds during this difficult time.  Denise was our colleague for over 25 years!  She influenced, encouraged and supported many young lives to go beyond what they thought they could, whether it be in the classroom or on the basketball court.  Her laughter was contagious and she left people feeling at ease in her presence. She leaves a legacy of passion and unconditional love for so many.

Dearest Matt,
I was stunned to hear the news of Denise's passing.  It took a while for me to process this information. 

 I will remember her fondly.  When Jim  Baer and I were in the ED/BD room, Denise and I would share stories about our dogs being skunked.  Then we would attempt to figure out ways to get rid of that odor.  We would make jokes about it, even though we hated when it happened.  

I had the pleasure of really getting to know her at a professional development day (September 2019), as we were seated next to each other.  Her smile and laugh will remain in my mind forever.

Matt..There are no appropriate words. Denise was a fantastic colleague as well as a true friend. Her warmth and love for others is a legacy--not to mention the healing power of so many shared laughs. Wishing you and your family strength and love.

Mrs Dunphy was a kind patient teacher and even more an amazing light to all who knew her. Both of my boys had the pleasure of having her as a teacher and coach and although my middle son has only had her for a few months this year she will leave a lasting impression with him. Thank you for being the amazing teacher and coach that you were. Please know you have left a profound impact on MANY young lives and we as parents are forever grateful. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Dunphy and Marliere families. We would like you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We pray that the cherished memories of Denise will help assuage the pain and sadness you are feeling at this time. We always enjoyed pulling up by boat next to the Dunphy home and seeing the entire family outside enjoying themselves along the shores of the Fox River. My heart was sadden when I heard the news about Denise. She was just what her obituary said and so much more. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
I first met Denise as a young teacher as she begun her career at the alternative high school and then later at Canton Middle School. She had such a love of life  and was always positive. 
My heart breaks for Matt and her son, Aiden. May you find comfort in memories of her and how she touched the lives of those she met. Hold her , always, close to your hearts.

Denise was an amazing co-worker.   I always enjoyed stopping by to see her in the morning on my way to my classroom.   She was always smiling, joking around, and I loved her outlook about things.

Denise was such a kind person.  She was always happy and with a  smile on her face.  The last time I saw her was coaching at Eastview vs Canton (my husband’s team).  I believe Eastview won.  Eastview was always tough to beat. Watching her coach you could tell she had a zest for life and loved what she did.   Her players respected her.  

I knew her from my first year teaching .   She still went out with Canton staff even though she worked at Eastview,  Those years were great . We are lucky to have known Denise.

I have the fondest memories of Denise from the time I worked with her at Eastview.   She was often the 1st person I saw as I walked past her room in the morning.  I knew I could always stop in and talk with her and somewhere in the conversation, her infectious laugh would fill the room.   I could always count on Denise to join in for lunch on any given Friday and we could catch up on our personal lives.  Those conversations and memories have left a permanent impression on me.  I am so sorry for your loss Matt and Aiden.  I will be holding you up in prayer.  Heaven sure did gain an angel.

Again, I am so sorry.  Please know that you and Aidan are in my thoughts and prayers.  I will miss not hearing her voice outside my office every passing period, and the quick converstations we had, often about our children (or the Bears).  Her laugh and sense of humor was infectious.  She taught both of my future step sons who both also thought the world of her.  Alex always wanted to stop in and say to her when he came to see me.  She made a lasting impression on so many students, touched so many lives.

Denise was an amazing co-worker and friends.  I meet Denise in 1996 when I came to Eastview. She welcomed me to the Eastview family.  She amazed me with her dedication  to Eastview and her students.  She always came into school with a smile and always made anyone feel welcome.  I loved talking her about her son, because our sons are the same again.  She was so proud of him.  I will miss hearing her laughter.  Her outlook on life.  I will miss seeing her because I passed her room daily.  I know that we are sad here on earth, but the heavens gain a beautiful angel.  She will be looking out for us.
