Gayle J. Schroeder

Gayle Jeanine Schroeder, age 62, of Marengo, passed away July 4, 2022, at the Florence Nursing Home in Marengo IL.

Gayle was born October 18, 1959, in Elgin IL, the daughter of Albert Young Jr. and Elizabeth Young of Huntley IL. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1977. She inherited her parents’ love of antiques. Gayle loved raising her daughters, Tanya and Trina. On September 3, 2005, she married Leroy Schroeder. She loved fishing, gardening, antiquing, swimming, decorating for holidays, and most of all hanging out in her garage. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and granddaughter Lilly.

She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Geng; stepchildren Chris Geng and Katie Schroeder; her granddaughter Lilly Volpe; her siblings David Young and Greg Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; daughter, Trina Geng; and husband LeRoy Schroeder.

A visitation will be held in Gayle’s honor starting at 10 am on July 26, 2022 followed by the funeral services at 11 am, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St. Union, IL.
