Gwynith M. Jirka, 76, of Crystal Lake, passed away January 5, 2016 in her home. Born October 7, 1939 in Chicago; she was the daughter of Carl A. and Mildred A. (Lastovicka) Clausius. She married Howard Frank Jirka on June 23, 1962 in Chicago.
A 1966 graduate of DePaul University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Gwyn retired from ACE Hardware after 25 years of employment. She was also a former employee of Browse Around Books.
Survivors include her children, Owen Frank Jirka and his wife Theressa of Houston, TX and Hilary Marie Jirka of Chicago; brother, A. Carl Clausius of Palm Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2015 at the funeral home.
