Jessica Caroline Kegebein

Jessica C. Kegebein, 77, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born February 1, 1949. Jessica graduated from East Syracuse High School, class of 1968 and went on to receive medical training at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY in 1968. She married in New York in 1968 and had two children: daughter, Sabra in 1969 and son Jon-Carlos in 1970. Jessica worked at Camden Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Camden, TN, where she offered much needed love and support to the patients. In the late 1980’s, she became a writer of books, autobiographies, and documentaries. She formed the Tail Spinners Writing Club in Camden, TN, where she enjoyed meeting with other writers with similar interests. Jessica married Barry Kegebein in the spring of 1998 in Denver, CO. She enjoyed researching religions and history. Jessica liked playing tennis and adored horses. She enjoyed traveling and spent time in Germany and six years in Iceland. After returning from Iceland, she lived in Bloomington, MN for one year and Sioux Falls, SD for ten years.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Barry Kegebein; daughter, Sabra Roe and son, Jon-Carlos Mayes. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ralph and Dorothy Cosens; and sister, Marion Patricia McDermott; nephew, James Philip Drake; cousin, Thayron Moore; twelve aunts and uncles.

Burial will be held at Crystal Lake Union Cemetery , 150 W. Woodstock, Crystal Lake, IL 60014, on May 13, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
