Joyce Jacqueline (Gardiner) Milliman, 71, of Crystal Lake, IL; passed away June 16, 2016. She was born in Hallock, Minnesota on June 19, 1944. She enjoyed her early childhood on a farm in Orleans, MN, and as a teenager lived in Grand Forks, ND where she attended High School. She married her husband of 53 years at St Mary’s Church, in Grand Forks, ND, and they spent their first 8 years in the Air Force. Joyce’s proudest moments is when her children came to faith in Jesus Christ. She and her husband were Foster parents to numerous children. She was a teacher in the “Good News” children’s club, and home schooled her youngest children through middle school. Her favorite song is the Old Rugged Cross. She collected dolls and angels, and was a very talented seamstress. Joyce was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Crystal Lake, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Milliman; daughters, Pam (Ben) Patterson and Jacqueline (Paul) Muscia; sons, Robert B. (Ann) Milliman, Mark Milliman and Samuel Milliman; brother, George Gardiner; sisters, Marian (Gordy) Engen and Doris (Gardiner) Roy and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elsie (Goetz) Gardiner, and John Gardiner.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 4 p.m., June 25, 2016 at Calvary Assembly of God, Route 31, Crystal Lake, IL. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. at the church.
