Leona Snarski

She was born November 10, 1921 in Chicago to Otto and Minnie (Zenke) Gaul. On May 17, 1941 she married Anthony Snarski in Chicago.

Leona was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She enjoyed watching parades, loved to dance, and “bumming”. She especially loved her family and her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Shirley Peschke, Kim Galanopoulos, and Donna (John) Borys; her 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Leonard (Ann) Gaul and Laverne (Vincent) Rogalski; her lifetime friend, Jean Shall; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her son, Thomas and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Snarski; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, March 11 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday, March 12 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake.

Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
