Lester E. "Bud" Rasmussen

Lester E. “Bud” Rasmussen, 92, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2015 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington. He was born December 7, 1922 in Crystal Lake, the son of the late Elmer and Emma Rasmussen. Bud served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Blanche Bein on October 31, 1953.

Bud enjoyed playing cards and going to the casinos. He was an avid Bears and Bulls fan, he also enjoyed golf. He loved sweets, especially cookies. Bud was a hard-working man and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Blanche: his son Tim, Crystal Lake; daughters, Myra (Larry) Buettner, Long Grove and Cindy (Jack) Bittner, Hoffman Estates; sister, Pauline McMorrow; three grandchildren, Joe Buettner, Kristen (Collin) Jeanquart, and Michael Buettner; and two great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Carter Jeanquart.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, February 10 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The service will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, February 11 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
