Marilyn Anne Spiewak of Crystal Lake was peacefully called to reunite with her beloved husband, Gerald Spiewak, in the heavens above, on Wednesday June 25th, 2025. Born on September 13th, 1946 to the late Eugene and Lorraine Leski (nee Nickels), she was married to the love of her life (Gerry Spiewak aka 'The Candy Man', aka Papa, aka 'King Fisher') for 55 Blessed years. As a selfless, loving, caring and devoted woman of strong Faith (St. Thomas Church - Crystal Lake), her true life passion was devoted to supporting the endless love of her children; always the best mother she could possibly be to: Brant (Lorie), Tadd (Danielle) and Dana Mangan (Robert). Her love of sewing, floral design, ladybugs, crafts, music (singing and watching her grandson's band (Gravity of Youth)), traveling the world, listening to WGN Radio late at night and joyfully sharing her life's journey with her closest friends fueled a glowing personality that was both welcoming and nurturing alike; such a kind gentle spirit and caring soul - her actions always speaking louder than her chosen words. As a loving doting grandmother ('Nana Banana') to her adoring grandchildren: Spencer, Chandler, Connor, Zack, Sam, Matthew, Jane and Ava, she lived to share smiles, laughter and love with family (everything she could do to keep up with Gerry's mad dashes to all of the grandchildren's various events (from Chicagoland to Southern Wisconsin)). She is also remembered as a dear sister to her brother Robert Leski (Helen) and late sister Barbara Leski. Marilyn began her life's journey in North Riverside, Illinois attending Komarek Elementary School (Mater Christi Church) and Riverside Brookfield High School where she was President of the Frankie Avalon Fan Club and crazy fan of 'The Dalmations' (Gerry's Band); a exemplary Ray Vogue School of Design graduate.
We share a bittersweet smile as we celebrate Marilyn's selflessly loving life through this her eternal birth announcement - heaven is indeed a happier place today! God Bless you Mom - thanks for being you! Until we meet again - Love you 'forever and for always, to the moon and back...' RIP.
