Marilyn D. Sundquist

Marilyn Dawn Sundquist, 92, of Carpentersville, lL, and Fort Myers, FL, slipped peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior on Christmas Day 2018. Marilyn was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on December 17, 1926, the daughter of Paul and Mary Pearson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Arvid Sundquist; her infant daughter, Linda; her parents; her brother, Richard Pearson, and her sister, Violet Turek. She is survived by her son, Stanley Sundquist, of Anacortes, WA; her daughter, Dawn Sundquist, of Carpentersville, IL; her sister Beverly Colby, of Yakima, WA, and 12 nieces and nephews, 27 great-nieces and nephews, and 12 great-grand nieces and nephews. Marilyn graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1944 and Moody Bible in Chicago in 1947. She loved the Lord and teaching children the Bible in Sunday schools, Pioneer Girls Clubs, Vacation Bible School, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. She also served as church pianist, soloist, and children’s choir director. She was a long-standing member of Willow Creek Community Church and worked at Lorenz Publishing Co. and David C. Cook Publishing Co. “Only one life, ‘twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” Memorials may be given to Moody Bible Institute or Willow Creek Community Church. Visitation at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 West Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL, on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 10 am -12 pm. Funeral service at 12 pm.
