He was born June 5, 1937, in Chicago, to Anthony and Sophie Wolniewicz. On Jan. 2, 1965, he married Elaine Dart in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Matthew J. (Catherine), Beth (Pete Welsh), Sheila and Tracy; and his grandchildren, Kendall, Kara, Matthew F. and Lala.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
