

He was born June 20, 1926 in Addison to August and Helen (Krage) Heinrich. On June 29, 1947 he married Lillian Rose Hachmeister.
Norman was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake where he was active on many boards and committees over the years. He was a dairy farmer in Addison from 1947 to 1962 when he and his wife moved to Crystal Lake and continued dairy farming until retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau, McHenry Co. Cooperative Extension Council, Pure Milk Association, Associated Milk Producers Incorporated, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, American Dairy Association, and the McHenry County Dairy Promotion Council. He held numerous offices and served on many boards in each of these dairy organizations.
Hobbies included traveling with his family to many national and international locations. He played softball and football in his younger years and was an avid bowler for many years. In recent years he lived at Fair Oaks Health Center in Crystal Lake where he served on the Resident’s Council, Interviewing Committee, played bingo, and helped tend the garden each year.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (John) Cleland of Capron; his grandchildren, Scott and Daria Cleland; his sisters-in-law, Elda Heinrich of Elgin, Myrtle Jenkins of Addison, and Dorothy (Leonard) Nerge of Harvard; his brother-in-law, Leonard (Marilyn) Hachmeister of Port Richey, Florida; and his nieces and nephews, Audrey Heinrich, Dan (Anne) Heinrich, Susan (Mike) Volmer, Bob (Seonwha) Carstens, Paula (Shaun) Graser, Debbie (Stephen) Wolfe, Jeff Hachmeister, Jon (Judy) Hachmeister, Karen Bedore, Valerie Hachmeister, Duane (Carol) Nerge, Cindy (Carl) Gnewuch, and Bob (Louise) Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian; his brother, Wilbert; his sisters, Anne Carstens and Lorna Schlomann.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, June 11 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11am on Wednesday, June 12 at the Historic Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. The service will be at 11am.
Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
