

Panagiota “Pat” Piculas, 81, of Crystal Lake died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock. She was born on March 31, 1929, in Nestani, Arcadia, Greece to Panagiotis and Vasiliki (Katris) Katsigiannis. She moved to Chicago in 1955, where she met her beloved husband Andrew “Andy” Piculas. On October 16, 1955, they were married in Chicago. They relocated to Crystal Lake in 1981 when she and her husband opened Andy’s Restaurant in Crystal Lake. She truly enjoyed her life with her family in Crystal Lake.
She was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin. She was a great homemaker who loved to cook. She loved her family and was extremely devoted to her religion. She will be greatly missed by her cherished only grandson and by the rest of her family.
She is survived by her huband of 55 years, Andy; her children, Louie Piculas, Angie (Peter) Angelos, and Bill Piculas; her grandson, Angelo; her sister, Giannoula (the late Kostas) Haralampus; her brother, Thomas (Thelma) Katsigiannis and the late Thomas (Dina) Katsigiannis; her sisters-in-law Matina (the late Steve) Spanos and Nicky (the late George) Piculas; her brothers-in-law, Dean (the late Elsie) Koutas and Tom (Fotene) Koutas; her caretaker, Mima; her former caretaker, Janina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm on Wednesday, December 29, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. There will be a Trisagion service at 7pm. The funeral service will be at 10am on Thursday, December 30, at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd., Elgin. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
