Paul Louis Scherer, 83, of Lake Barrington Woods passed peacefully on October 18, 2015. Born on May 22, 1932 in Chicago, IL, Paul was a retired craftsman with a personal talent and passion for woodworking. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from October 1952 to October 1954. Paul is survived by one brother, Richard of Roberts, WI, his devoted wife, Marilyn, son, Paul Scherer (Monica), daughter Jean Summers (Rick) and cherished granddaughter, Breanna, as well as four step sons, Steve (Gail), Rich (Mary), Mike (Karen) and Ron (Hilda), eleven step-grandchildren, Lauren (Eddy), Meghan, Jessica, Rebecca, Michael, Ricky, Kristina, Sarah, Benjamin and Joshua. Paul will be remembered for his love of family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Journey Care Hospice, 405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington, IL 60010, where Paul was treated with dignity and extraordinary care.
