Robert Wesley Milliman (Bob), of Delavan Wisconsin passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born January 1, 1943, in Uxbridge, Massachusetts to Albert Wesley Milliman and Catherine Blanche (Patterson).
After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force where he served our country for 8 years. This earned him a Bronze Star while fighting in the Vietnam War.
Bob went into the automotive field after his time in the military and retired after many years from Brake Parts in McHenry, Illinois.
Bob married his first wife, Joyce in 1962 and they had 5 children. A moment that was life changing in Bob’s life was when they both accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior in 1981. They started attending Calvary Assembly of God church in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Bob’s love for the Lord and for God’s Word transformed his life and was apparent to everyone who knew him. His passion in life was sharing Jesus’s love with others through his love and his servant’s heart. Bob joyfully served others in many volunteer positions including as a Deacon, Elder, Bible study leader, Head of Men’s Ministry, and Royal Ranger’s Leader at Calvary Assembly of God Church. He was the Director for Helping Hands in McHenry County. Bob also became an ordained Chaplain, served and led small groups in several prisons as well as mentoring many inmates. Bob was also a member of the Rotary Club.
After he retired from his career, he began serving alongside his daughter, Pam at the Agape House volunteering his time and talents which opened the door to sharing Jesus’s love as beloved Grandpa to all who crossed his path.
At the age of 78, he had more love to give so he decided to drive a school bus, making a difference by greeting every child by name and playing Christian music on the bus.
As a husband, he was loving, devoted and sacrificial. Joyce passed away in 2016 and in 2018 Bob married Debby. He and Debby became members of the Grace Community church where they worshiped and served together. They were thankful and blessed in their sunset years to enjoy adventures, family and their beautiful home at Westshire Farms.
Bob had a tremendous heart for others but his greatest love, next to the Lord, was for his family. He was not just a father to each of his children, but a close friend and mentor. They always knew they were dearly loved. To his grandchildren, he was supportive, silly, lighthearted, and always made them laugh. He was their encourager, their human jungle gym, teacher, preacher, and their security. To his great grandchildren he was caring, a role model and as two granddaughters would say, “The strongest person they knew.”
He was a powerful prayer warrior with a servant’s heart that loved unconditionally. This purposed him to encourage his entire family in their faith journey.
Bob’s remarkable legacy lives on in the lives he touched, and the love he shared — and now, his deepest longing is fulfilled as he rests in the presence of Jesus.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Joyce Milliman (Gardner); his parents, Albert and Catherine; one brother, James Milliman; as well as four sisters, Joyce Robers, Helen Sarazin, Elizabeth Barnes and Mary Meunier.
Robert is survived by his wife, Debra Milliman (Levine); 5 children, Pamala (Benjamin) Patterson, Robert (Ann) Milliman, Jackie (Dave) Lemanski, Mark Milliman, and Samuel Milliman; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Rotatori and Jean Benjamin as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
