Ruby Joy Ehlert

Ruby Joy Ehlert, 93, of Crystal Lake, IL passed away peacefully at Crystal Pines Nursing Home in Crystal Lake on September 6, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1929 to the late Herman and Clara Ehlert.

Ruby Joy worked for the NorthWest Herald for over 40 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and of Bethany Lutheran Church. She loved to play cards, go to the senior center, bowl and play golf.

Ruby is survived by her 2 sisters, Marian Burnside and Clara Lou Bruns; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Clara Ehlert; 3 sisters Evelyn Hamer, Betty Ehlert, and Pearl Heath; and 3 nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held on September 9, 2022 from 11am until 1pm at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Graveside service will follow at 1pm at Crystal Lake Union Cemetery.
