

She was born October 20, 1924, in Crystal Lake to Clara and Martin Roewer. She married Melvin Stotler in 1952, between the two of them they had eight children, it was a yours, mine and ours family.
Sylvia loved music, animals and writing poetry. She was an avid reader and loved taking car trips, short and long. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, James (Lois) Matz, Judi Murison, Chris Gibson, Loreli (Wayne) Elam, Jan (Sham) Bisram, Mitzi (Bill) Bickley, and Dan (Lorie) Koura. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; her daughter, Kay; and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Rose, Clara, Gertrude, Otto, Erda, Erdman, Ernest, and Irene.
The family will greet friends from 2pm to the 4pm Memorial service on Saturday, May 21, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Sylvia’s name to Helping Paws, 2500 Harding Lane, Woodstock, IL 60098.
