Walter G. Higgins II

He was born July 24, 1932 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to William Hilton and Margaret (Parker) Higgins. On June 4, 1955 he married Carol Wallace in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Essex Fells, New Jersey. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time and keeping in touch with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Bonnie L. (Ronald Jr.) Burke, William E. Higgins, Amy L. (Todd) Johnson; grandchildren, Jennie (Phil), Josephine (James), Ronald III (Kelly), Samantha, Alyson, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jacob Walter, and Isabella; and his sister, Janet Reddy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Higgins.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, January 9 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 210 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project..
