Ms. Athree "Marie" Mae Dooley Reid

Funeral Services for Ms. Athree “Marie” Mae Reid, age 82 of Hanceville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Missionary Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Paul Campbell officiating.

Ms. Reid was born in Cullman on August 15, 1931 to the late John & Mary Walker Dooley, she passed away on April 12, 2014, at Hanceville Nursing Home. Ms. Reid loved The Lord, loved life, and loved her family. She worked several jobs ranging from factory work to sewing to farming. Throughout her life she would do whatever it took to raise and support her family. She was an amazing cook who thoroughly enjoyed feeding those she loved. Her dumplings, banana pudding, and tea cakes top the long list of dishes that will be missed. She was a woman who lived a simple life and her priorities were in order. Her unrelenting faith and loving spirit will live on forever.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Linda Stanley an infant son, Marshel Watwood; and one grandson, Grady Shawn White.

Survivors include her Daughter – Judy Watwood (Mike) Walters; one Son – Mikeal Lewayne (Sandy) Watwood; Son-in-Law – Mickey Stanley; 5 – Grandchildren – Chad (Darinda) White; Josh White; Chris Tammie) Stanley; Ty (Elizabeth) Watwood & Kendra (Scott) Harper; 11 – Great-Grandchildren – Taylor, Shannon & Lyndsey White; Shelby & Katie White; Ashley & Grady White; Lance & Sadie Stanley; Madeline Watwood and Ameya Harper; 3 – Great-Great-Grandchildren – Aiden & Lacy White and Lilly White.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
