
Greg, 59, died at his home in Cullman, AL after fighting a long battle with physical and mental illness. He will best be remembered for his compassionate heart, quick wit, and generous spirit. He was a good soul, dealt a bad hand of health issues that plagued him in recent years.
Greg was born in Birmingham, AL to Wendell and Jacqueline (Speegle) Copeland. He graduated in 1976 from Cullman High School and received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama in 1982. Greg practiced law in Cullman for 12 years and in 1994 left the practice to join the family business, C&F Carwash and Pressure Systems.
He was a charter board member of Hospice of Cullman County; served on the Red Cross Board; and lifetime member of St. Andrews UMC where he held numerous leadership positions.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Copeland. He is survived by his father, Wendell, and Marie; son, Thaddeus, and Ryan Bagley of New York, NY; daughter, Bess, and Justin House of Athens, AL; and loving dog Pip.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cullman County Humane Society and Cullman Caring for Kids.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday August 3, at St. Andrews UMC with service immediately following. Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Eidson, George Lyrene, Jock Leonard, Brad Glenn, Richard Craft, Danny Morrow.
